Good! Does #523415 happen there? Can you try with kernel modesetting? See http://wiki.debian.org/KernelModesetting (upgrading to 2.6.31-rc might help there) Now you need to find which commit broke things between 901 and 902. There are quite a lot of commits there. Have you ever built a X video driver? Do you know git and git bisect? It would be nice if you could report all this to bugzilla.freedesktop.org.
