Hi,

I'd be happy to apply patches to allow OpenAFS to support user-mode Linux
(in fact, it may even be fairly useful here at Stanford), but similarly to
Sam, I'm a bit confused about how the patch you provided actually works.
It also seems rather intrusive.

Is there a guide somewhere to how modules should support building with
user-mode Linux in Debian? Or failing that, are there other kernel module
source packages that support user-mode Linux that I can look at?

Is the architecture of the UML kernel always the same as the architecture
of the host kernel?

Is ARCH a variable that's exported by kernel-package? How does it get
set? I didn't follow that part of the patch, and kernel-package doesn't
mention that variable in a quick look.

Thanks in advance for the additional information!
