Confirmed. There is no protrusion when using teTeX 2.0.2 (pdftex
1.10b) and these two commands.
Did you try to clarify that on any kind of mailing list/newsgroup
etc? Further I think it was never a good idea to implement that
manually, cause there are packages to get protrusion. pdfcprot should
work even with the version in woody, cause it has about the same age.
  Last question: Could you tell, which pdfTeX version we had in
1.0.7? I don't have a pure woody installation any more.
