This is actually a bug in update-inetd, which outputs this message for
xinetd users. Due to an error in that script, it outputs a newline to
standard output, which interacts badly with debconf. I have passed this
information onto the update-inetd maintainer (see bug #489494).

It is possible for me to work around this bug in wu-ftpd's post-installation
script however, so the next version of the package will include the
workaround.
