Package: pommed
Version: 1.26~dfsg-1
Severity: normal

Hello, I noticed that for a couple of months the brightness control via
Fn+F1 F2 keys behaves quite strangely. When changing the brightness with
those shortcuts, the brightness gauge appears on
the screen and seems to progress smoothly from left to right, but the
actual brightness is not consistent with the gauge. For example, if I
have the brightness set on max and I graduately decrease the brightness
with the Fn+F1 key, then I sometimes end up with a totally black screen and
the gauge being at one third or one half of the max brightness instead
of being to zero (sometimes the brightness even increases instead of
increasing). I noticed this might be related to the speed at which
I repeatedly press the F1/F2 keys, with the worst results
obtained when leaving the Fn+F1 key pressed. By contrast, if I press
the F1/F2 every half second, the brightness behaviour seems to be
reasonnably satisfying, but then it takes quite a long time to set the
brightness.

Please feel free to ask for more details.
