Package: amarok Version: 2.1.1-1 Severity: normal Since I mostly use GNOME, I mount my music (on another computer) via gvfs's sftp backend. Using fuse, this mount appears as a directory in ~/.gvfs. I have instructed amarok to search recursively through a directory that contains a symlink to a directory of this mount. This directory in turn contains a subdirectory that has over 1200 files in it, all of them MP3 or Ogg Vorbis.
When Amarok updates the collection, the progress bar hangs at 49%. The amarokcollectionscanner stops showing up under ps; I presume it has died for some unknown reason. However, if I move these 1200 files into 27 subdirectories based on name, then updating the collection completes successfully in a reasonable amount of time (less than five minutes). If you need me to perform some tests, I'm happy to do so, but I'd prefer to do as many as possible at once, since I'll have move 5.8GB of data around, and I'd like not to have to do that too many times.
