There used to be an xdg-su actually, but it got removed for some reason. I think they wanted to use PolicyKit instead or something. I'd be happy to move it -- I haven't had time to maintain it properly. Part of the problem is that upstream is quite inactive as well. When I started maintaining this package, I didn't plan on becoming my own upstream.
