Hmm.. I can reproduce it on more than one system; sid and lenny. > Where did you get the kernel sources from? Always from ftp.kernel.org. > Were they clean? I always start with "rm -fr" of the whole kernel tree and modules directory and unpack the source from kernel.org. > (normally, it is not required to run make mrproper, but for reproducing > your problem it would be good that we start from the same place). At > the very least, rm -rf ./debian; and then show a full log again. That log was done from a complete new tree without any debian directory at all. [comparing of log] Well, looks like debian/ruleset/targets/debug.mk is where the error starts. I have no idea what there _should_ be. However, I do not use any debug setting for make-kpkg. The more which makes me wonder is that older versions worked well. As I have this installations for long time now it might be some remaining from older versions. If it help I can give you a login to my laptop running sid after next Wednesday so you might try yourself. > -e 's/=D/2.6.30-anzu-10.00.Custom/g' -e > 's/=A/amd64/g' \ Hmm.. There was many changes between 2.6.28 and 2.6.30 so that might be not comparable. In fact, some doesn't work with 2.6.29 and newer on my test system.
