Subject: libvdeplug2: libvdeplug load fails silently, so the vd0 interface is not created Package: libvdeplug2 Version: 2.2.2-3 Severity: normal
*** Please type your report below this line *** Until I installed libvdeplug2-dev, loading the lwipv6 module would only create the loopback interface, not the vd0. While umview does find /usr/lib/libvdeplug.so.2, the child process that is spawned doesn't find it. (found with strace -f) The child process finds /usr/lib/libvdeplug.so if it is there, and libvdeplug2-dev makes that symbolic link. Discovering this without knowing how to use strace with the -f option is non-trivial. I got no error message. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=nb_NO.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=nb_NO.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages libvdeplug2 depends on: ii libc6 2.7-18 GNU C Library: Shared libraries libvdeplug2 recommends no packages. libvdeplug2 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- Herman Robak -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
