Hi! I strongly presume that the crash is caused by IMAP folders containing zero-length messages, ie. not messages with an empty body but messages which really are 0 bytes in size, including header. Of course, this kind of message "should not" occur but it does and it seems to cause the crash.
Offlineimap 6.0.x was immune to these messages.
