This is a production machine and there were several modifications
required, e.g.:
% aptitude install snort-mysql/experimental

And a short exploration of seeing what is needed if some of the other
snort packages in the dependency chain are upgraded just makes things
scarier.
Sooooo, in the context of Ryan's comment is it really necessary to test
out 2.8.4.1-1, and if so, is there a "reasonable" backout procedure?
