Thank you for your bug report; apologies for the delay in replying. I do not believe this is a bug. The Irish fortunes are deliberately installed in a subdirectory of /usr/share/fortunes, as are (all? of) the the other non-English fortunes. This works so that in the default locales only English-language fortunes are given; to show Irish fortunes, set your locale to Irish, eg. $ LANG=ga fortunes I believe this is working as designed; if you disagree, please explain further.
