The provided dhclient-script supports reading the IF_METRIC environment variable to set a metric to the route throught the default gateway, as specified if /etc/network/interfaces. Unfortunately, although dhclient3 has IF_METRIC in its environment, it does not forward it to its dhclient-script child. Here is a quick'n'dirty patch that makes dhclient3 forward all its IF_* environent variables to its dhclient-script child.
