Package: collectd Version: 4.6.3-1 Severity: normal I have just upgraded from 4.4.2-3 to 4.6.3-1 and the iptables plugin stopped working, collectd segfaults at start if I enable it.
When I upgraded, I copy my old collectd.conf file, and install the package maintainer's version of collectd.conf (the only file it asked). It started collectd and was running ok. But when I "merged" the old file with the new one, collectd segfaults. I reduced the testcase to only adding the iptables plugin to the defaults one and with a simple rule: Chain "filter" "INPUT" 2 This appears in syslog when I run invoke-rc.d collectd start: Jul 4 22:42:31 debian collectd[7927]: Initialization complete, entering read-loop. Jul 4 22:42:31 debian kernel: [548674.116545] collectd[7930]: segfault at 73656c62 ip b7eef712 sp b6805300 error 4 in libiptc.so.0.0.0[b7eed000+9000] If I downgrade collectd to 4.4.2-3 the iptables plugin works ok. I see in /etc/default/collectd an option to obtain the core file, so I activated. The core file is too big to attach, you can download it at: http://www.sdfg.com.ar/tmp/iptables-core.gz Please let me know if you want me to try something Thanks a lot, Rodrigo -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (400, 'unstable'), (200, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.30-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages collectd depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.26 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 2.9-12 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii librrd4 1.3.8-1 Time-series data storage and displ Versions of packages collectd recommends: ii iptables 1.4.4-1 administration tools for packet fi ii libatk1.0-0 1.26.0-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libcairo2 1.8.6-2+b1 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libcurl3-gnu 7.18.2-8.1 Multi-protocol file transfer libra ii libdbi0 0.8.2-3 Database Independent Abstraction L ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.12-1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdbus-glib 0.80-4 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libesmtp5 1.0.4-2 LibESMTP SMTP client library ii libfontconfi 2.6.0-3 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.3.9-4.1 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libglib2.0-0 2.20.1-2 The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-0 2.16.1-2 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libhal1 0.5.12~git20090406.46dc48-2 Hardware Abstraction Layer - share ii libmysqlclie 5.0.51a-24+lenny1 MySQL database client library ii libnotify1 [ 0.4.5-1 sends desktop notifications to a n ii libopenipmi0 2.0.14-2 Intelligent Platform Management In ii liboping0 0.3.5-1 C/C++ library to generate ICMP_ECH ii libpango1.0- 1.24.0-3+b1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpcap0.8 1.0.0-2 system interface for user-level pa ii libperl5.10 5.10.0-23 Shared Perl library ii libpq5 8.3.7-1 PostgreSQL C client library ii libsensors3 1:2.10.8-1 library to read temperature/voltag ii libsnmp15 5.4.1~dfsg-12 SNMP (Simple Network Management Pr ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8k-3 SSL shared libraries pn libupsclient <none> (no description available) pn libvirt0 <none> (no description available) ii libxml2 2.7.3.dfsg-1 GNOME XML library ii lm-sensors 1:3.1.0-2 utilities to read temperature/volt ii perl 5.10.0-23 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii rrdtool 1.3.8-1 Time-series data storage and displ Versions of packages collectd suggests: pn collectd-dev <none> (no description available) ii hddtemp 0.3-beta15-45 hard drive temperature monitoring pn libconfig-general-perl <none> (no description available) ii libhtml-parser-perl 3.61-1 collection of modules that parse H pn libregexp-common-perl <none> (no description available) ii librrds-perl 1.3.8-1 Time-series data storage and displ ii liburi-perl 1.37+dfsg-1 Manipulates and accesses URI strin ii lighttpd [httpd-cgi] 1.4.22-1 A fast webserver with minimal memo pn mbmon <none> (no description available) -- debconf information: * collectd/auto-migrate-3-4: false * collectd/migration-3-4: -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
