Package: collectd Version: 4.6.3-1~bpo50+1 Severity: normal There is some kind of incompatibility between collectd and powerdns 2.9.22. With powerdns support enabled in collectd, collectd connects to powerdns's unix socket. The connection hangs indefinitely. Further, it seems to cause collectd to start spewing these errors:
Jul 4 20:15:55 stage01 collectd[6401]: Filter subsystem: Built-in target `write': Dispatching value to all write plugins failed with status 2. collectd will no longer even shutdown and must be kill -9'd. It render powerdns's control socket useless as well, so it can no longer be managed either (until collectd is killed). Things work as expected with powerdns 2.9.21.2. I tried collectd 4.6.2 also, with the same problem. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.2 APT prefers stable APT policy: (900, 'stable'), (400, 'testing'), (300, 'unstable'), (290, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.18.8-xen (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages collectd depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.24 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 2.7-18 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii librrd4 1.3.1-4 Time-series data storage and displ Versions of packages collectd recommends: ii libatk1.0-0 1.22.0-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libcairo2 1.6.4-7 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra pn libcurl3-gnutls <none> (no description available) pn libdbi0 <none> (no description available) pn libdbus-1-3 <none> (no description available) pn libdbus-glib-1-2 <none> (no description available) pn libesmtp5 <none> (no description available) ii libglib2.0-0 2.16.6-2 The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-0 2.12.12-1~lenny1 The GTK+ graphical user interface pn libhal1 <none> (no description available) ii libmysqlclient15off 5.0.51a-24+lenny1 MySQL database client library pn libnotify1 <none> (no description available) pn libnotify1-gtk2.10 <none> (no description available) pn libopenipmi0 <none> (no description available) pn liboping0 <none> (no description available) ii libpango1.0-0 1.20.5-5 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpcap0.8 0.9.8-5 system interface for user-level pa ii libperl5.10 5.10.0-19 Shared Perl library ii libpq5 8.3.7-0lenny1 PostgreSQL C client library ii libsensors3 1:2.10.7-1 library to read temperature/voltag ii libsnmp15 5.4.1~dfsg-12 SNMP (Simple Network Management Pr ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8g-15+lenny1 SSL shared libraries pn libupsclient1 <none> (no description available) pn libvirt0 <none> (no description available) pn libxenstore3.0 <none> (no description available) ii libxml2 2.6.32.dfsg-5 GNOME XML library pn lm-sensors <none> (no description available) ii perl 5.10.0-19 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction pn rrdtool <none> (no description available) Versions of packages collectd suggests: ii apache2-mpm-worker [http 2.2.9-10+lenny3 Apache HTTP Server - high speed th pn collectd-dev <none> (no description available) pn hddtemp <none> (no description available) pn libconfig-general-perl <none> (no description available) pn libhtml-parser-perl <none> (no description available) pn libregexp-common-perl <none> (no description available) pn librrds-perl <none> (no description available) ii liburi-perl 1.35.dfsg.1-1 Manipulates and accesses URI strin pn mbmon <none> (no description available) -- debconf information excluded -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
