Now that alsaconf has been removed from the distribution I cannot find any way of getting sound to work with my ICH9 intel sound. (I have been using a sound card that does not exhibit this problem, but I tried to go back to the intel sound to troubleshoot a problem with the sound and I find it impossible to go back due to the lack of alsaconf.) adrian> aplay -c 1 clip1.wav ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1008:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave aplay: main:608: audio open error: No such file or directory adrian> aplay -l **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** card 1: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: ALC883 Analog [ALC883 Analog] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 1: Intel [HDA Intel], device 1: ALC883 Digital [ALC883 Digital] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 Note that some of the later messages in this bug report are about a different problem, sound stuttering and failure with flash sound. This problem persists with the new sound card and is a separate issue. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
