hello,

maybe a workaround.

i have the same problem. the machine works with debian lenny and i
install via "apt-get -b source...", after dpkg -i ... i read the
/usr/share/doc/openerp-server/README.Debian and make all the written things.

with /etc/init.d/openerp-server i can start, but there is nothing in work...

but, i can start with

su - postgres -c "/usr/bin/openerp-server --config=/etc/openerp-server.conf"

so, i look in /etc/init.d/openerp-server and change then the written
entry NAME=openerp to NAME=postgres
and the init-script start correctly the openerp-server!
