Yes. I tried xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.7.1-1 from unstable and xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.7.99.901-2 from experimental (both with only the necessary dependencies resolved, which means xserver-xorg 1:7.4+3 and xserver-xorg-core 2:1.6.1.901-3 in both cases) and the problem stays the same. The workaround of using xrandr to set the correct polarity in /etc/gdm/Init/Default still works fine. I replaced that PC a few weeks ago with a newer one. It is still on my desk, but normally connected to a different monitor (and turned off most of the time), but not for very much longer. So I won't be able to do more tests - as far as I'm concerned, the bug can be closed. The new PC has a newer Intel chipset (Q45/Q43), and the monitor works fine on this PC with a stock Lenny installation. So it isn't just the monitor, but the combination of monitor and chipset (and driver). hp -- _ | Peter J.
