Please, check that you have installed some of the packages that were suggested by Julien¹. Your problem is related to a lack of xfonts-100dpi, xfonts-75dpi or xfonts-base. I have installed Eterm in a box, which hadn't installed it before, and it runs perfectly. I'll proceed to close this bug report after you reply me.
