I just downloaded a pristine copy of GD-Test from the upstream source[1], unzipped it in my public_html, did a "chmod 777 output" (as the readme states), and hit it with a web browser, and I don't see the same corruption that I do on your page. My guess would be that the data being used to generate the images in your version has been corrupted, and if you grab a pristine copy, it will work fine. If not, then we have a more obscure bug we need to look at. Either way, ping the bug back with your result, so I know if I can close it or start escalating some troubleshooting. ...
