In a quick test with Valgrind 3.3.1 (the Lenny version) the patch that I submitted with this bug report seemed to fix the problem.
Now I'm testing with Valgrind 3.4.1 (backported from Unstable to Lenny) and I get error reports again even with my patch applied. So it seems that at best my patch would fix this for the Lenny version of Valgrind but not for Unstable.
