Package: gparted
Version: 0.4.5-2
Severity: important

Hello,

I've recently been hit by #533848 and #534274, and realized that dmraid
was installed as it's recommended by gparted. On my system, I use mdadm
to create soft raid devices and as forementioned bugreports show, mdadm
and dmraid don't play nice together.

I think that even if dmraid can be useful for gparted, it should only be
installed explicitly. Furthermore, not well documented users may not be
capable to debug such situations (I had to debug initramfs).

Severity important might be considered as excessive but I do think that
the problem that it may cause is really really annoying and grave (you
can loose you raid). A user might be really clueless about why his system
doesn't boot anymore.

Cheers,
