openoffice.org-report-builder hangs when doing the prerm. I left it
running for nearly 40 minutes with it pegging the CPU and it didn't
finish. This is a P4 @ 3GHz, so not a blazingly fast machine, but not
slow either, so ~40 min should be way more than enough.
System is mostly running testing (up-to-date) with some unstable
(including OOO) mixed in. OOO itself is up-to-date, but not
reportbuilder; this failure was when trying to upgrade it.
I have tried with the following javas (using update-java-alternatives):
- whatever I had at first (prob. java-6-sun) (for ~40min)
- java-6-sun (~4 min)
- java-6-openjdk (~2 min)
- java-gcj (~2 min)
Ultimately, I 'fixed' it by running ltrace against unopkg .. which seems
to have killed it in such a way that dpkg thought everything was ok and
went ahead with the upgrade (!) ... which seems to have worked.
(Note: It was only reportbuilder that had the issue. e.g., presentation
minimizer removed/installed fine)
