Okay, so it seems you are hitting two different bugs at the same time. The first one is that the block list gets garbage, and the second one is that the cat function of debugvmfs doesn't support files bigger than 2GB properly on 32-bit architectures. The first bug explains your random behaviour with vmfs-fuse, and is fixed in the tarball I gave you, because the responsible code is gone, and the second bug explains your result with debugvmfs. And I suspect a third bug that was supposed to be fixed in 0.1.1, but was probably not fixed properly. Would you mind trying the newly attached tarball ?
