And of course -java-common does not depend on any JVM itself either. The Java policy says that libraries (and -java-common is nothing else, it just consists of loads of .jars and a .class file, the .class file is important for JRE detection) shouldn't depend on JVMs itself but applications using it should. (That's why -writer recommends it and -base and the extensions written in Java depend on "some JVM") Ok, maybe we should say "Please ensure that the package openoffice.org-java-common and some JRE is installed" ^^^^^^^^^^^^ but I consider this minor.
