Hmm, it sounds like a dependency problem, but where.
What version of pidgin and libpurple0 do you have installed?

I'm not even sure who's complaining, pidgin or the plugin.
I cannot check at the moment but I think i tested it with pidgin and
libpurple0 2.5.6

It looks like that I'm missing a dependency here. That's libpurple
complaining in your output.  I think it is saying the ABI of the
plugin is 2.5.x but you only got 2.4.x

Looking at some other plugins they manually have a libpurple dependency,
which I guess this should have too.

Your fix is to upgrade pidgin and libpurple to a 2.5.x one.
I'll clone this bug, as it is a different problem.
