Package: kate Version: 4:4.2.2-1 Severity: normal Steps to reproduce: 1. $ kate 2. edit->vi mode 3. Type 'test' 4. Press 'V', the entire line is selected 5. Press 'y'. 6. Press 'p'
Expected results: entire line is pasted Actual results: only one character is pasted, as in vi and Vim If I press 'End' before 'y', or otherwise move the cursor to end-of-line and then 'y'ank, the entire line is yanked/pasted. In vi/Vim pressing 'V' selects the entire line *and* yanking copies the entire line too. It is counterintuitive to see the entire line selected as in kate, and then only one character pasted. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.29.3 (SMP w/4 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages kate depends on: ii kdebase-runtime 4:4.2.2-1 runtime components from the offici ii kdelibs5 4:4.2.4-1 core libraries for all KDE 4 appli ii libc6 2.9-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libplasma3 4:4.2.4-1 library for the KDE 4 Plasma deskt ii libqt4-dbus 4.5.1-2 Qt 4 D-Bus module ii libqt4-qt3support 4.5.1-2 Qt 3 compatibility library for Qt ii libqt4-xml 4.5.1-2 Qt 4 XML module ii libqtcore4 4.5.1-2 Qt 4 core module ii libqtgui4 4.5.1-2 Qt 4 GUI module ii libstdc++6 4.4.0-5 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 kate recommends no packages.
