Sorry about not responding sooner.
As far as I can tell the LDAP configuration has changed in the latest
version (2.3.2-1 just uploaded to experimental), and this bug is no
longer relevant.
So I will mark this as fixed-in-experimental.
If I am mistaken please let me know.
