Loaded question :) There are by now maybe 100 r-cran-* packages, and new ones keep appearing. I just put one into NEW yesterday. The debian-med team also added a few. That said ... | as there will be Debian packages of all of the CRAN packages at | some point? I expect to 'officially' announce cran2deb as a apt-get'able repo during useR 2009 in around six weeks. Lots of details to iron out. cran2deb will never do all 10 or 12 arches, and may well stay outside of Debian. And in a way you already can use install.packages() and friends from R --- so it's not clear if there is _one_ best way for everyone. Long story short: if you feel like packaging eRm, go ahead. Creating the few debian/* files for a CRAN is just a matter of a few minutes anyway...
