Package: pootle Version: 1.1.0-2 Followup-For: Bug #525135 After upgrading from etch to Lenny I had the same problem as the bugrep (except that my error message was about inability import translate.storage rather than translate.search.
I fixed the issue with apt-get --reinstall install translate-toolkit pootle still failed to start. eror in /var/log/pootle was now about failure to import lxml. apt-get --reinstall install lxml fixed that and allowed PootleServer to start and work correctly. So it seems that (some?) modules that are depended-upon by pootle need to be re-installed if there has been a transition from python 2.4 to python 2.5. It seems to me that the system should take care of this during the upgrade? I'm afraid I know little about how all this fits together, but thought it worth reporting this issue if only to help others with the same problem. I have no idea where it should be fixed... -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.1 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.29.2-bytemark-kvm-tickless-2009-05-05 Locale: LANG=en_GB, LC_CTYPE=en_GB (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages pootle depends on: ii adduser 3.110 add and remove users and groups ii python 2.5.2-3 An interactive high-level object-o ii python-central 0.6.8 register and build utility for Pyt ii python-jtoolkit 0.7.8-4 Web application framework ii python-lxml 2.1.1-2.1 pythonic binding for the libxml2 a ii translate-toolkit 1.1.1-3 Toolkit assisting in the localizat pootle recommends no packages. pootle suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
