Hi Václav, I'm tagging this bug fixed-upstream, as the next upstream release increases the SMTP client timeouts to the minimum RFC-5321 recommended values, i. e. 10 minutes for accepting the message after the data block and EOM terminator have been written. This was the same as a BerliOS bug I recently fixed.
Sorry that the documentation is unclear about this, I'll see to that. The better solution though would be to configure or fix Exim to acknowledge receipt much faster in such situations. The synchronous nature of Exim and Sendmail in some configurations - possibly with off-site forwards - is a major general problem; and the hold-the-world nature of Exim's isn't good. I've never seen the problem with Postfix... Best regards Matthias -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [email protected]
