Package: doc-iana Version: 2003.07-1 Severity: important This package is COMPLETELY BOGUS.
All the web page links are broken and either point nowhere or point to www.iana.org The "best" thing, if there is any, in this broken package is an OUT DATED by TWO YEARS, INCOMPLETE, port number list. The rest is practically empty documents saying little of anything. I've visited IANA over the years: I know this "package" is a BOGUS web crawl: improper use of 'wget' at best. A BOGUS package doesn't deserve to be split into MORE packages. One such has wasted enough of my time already. Requesting it be split into peices is the sign of the time for debian: Focus on splitting things apart until they are hard to collect and no longer work correctly some parts lost: meanwhile becoming incompatible and differing from other the main stream releases and the initial sources. Management Time sweetly needed for much more important Linux tasks than trying to save disk space by forcing packages into a million peices: which by the way might just WASTE diskspace on some workstations. On the other hand: a well organized set of standards would be nice. But whoever put this together is insensitive to the fact it is a WASTE of time when anyone can go right to www.iana.org and fare much better. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.10-k7 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (ignored: LC_ALL set to C) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
