1) When new version of the image is created, the filename of this new version reflects the new version name. 2) When version is renamed, the filename is not altered. 3) When the image is opened for editing in external application, f-spot ask to create new version. In this case the name of new version depends on external application (i.e. "Modified in GNU Image Manipulation Program"). If name of new version will be same as previous one, suffix is added to the new version name. Name of the file on the disk is not considered, but filename don't need to reflect the version name (see point 2). This behaviour can lead to this bug. Steps to reproduce: 1) From f-spot application open an image in GIMP and confirm creation of new version. 2) Alter image and close it (or whole gimp). Now new version of the image is created with the name "(Modified in GNU Image Manipulation Program)" and this text is appended to the filename of the image on the disc. 3) Rename this version of the image in f-spot. Version name in f-spot is renamed but the filename is not. 4) Now I am not able to create next version from this (again by opening in Gimp). When I confirm dialog about creation of new version error dialog appears. This appears in console: FSpot.UI.Dialog.EditException: Received exception "An object at this uri file:///home/petr/Fotografie/2009/04/04/IMG_2170 (Modified in GNU Image Manipulation Program).JPG already exists".
