Package: mingw32-binutils Version: 2.18.50-20080109-1 Severity: normal The code for windres, specifically unicode_from_ascii() in winduni.c, compiles differently on win32 and linux platforms. On the latter, as a comment admits, it's broken. Rather than use the APIs in iconv.h (as cegcc's version of this file does), it just pads every byte. For ..rc files in non-western-european languages, that's broken behavior.
This is an upstream bug, of course. I can contact them if that's appropriate, but as I read the Debian reporting guidelines that's up to the maintainer of the package. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages mingw32-binutils depends on: ii libc6 2.9-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries mingw32-binutils recommends no packages.
