Yes, the problem is still there. Just tried mplayer with an avi file
and also bunch of videos on some web sites.

I am using:
pulseaudio: 0.9.15-1
alsa-base: 1.0.19.dfsg-3
kernel: linux-image-2.6.26-2-686 (ver. 2.6.26-15)
