Package: xpdf-reader Version: 3.00-13 Severity: normal 3 particular PDFs do not render as expected. The text seems randomised in xpdf but not acroread.
Steps to reproduce: wget http://www.australianwildlife.org/wmmay05.zip http://www.australianwildlife.org/wmoct04.zip http://www.australianwildlife.org/wmjun04.zip unzip wmmay05.zip wmoct04.zip wmjun04.zip xpdf wm*.pdf xpdf is launched, displaying 3 PDFs, all with incorrect text rendering. The text is garbled - seems to display random characters, not warped or stretched: http://bonedaddy.net/pabs3/files/tmp/xpdf.png Expected results: Display the normal text like acroread does: http://bonedaddy.net/pabs3/files/tmp/acroread.png Seems this is an upstream bug since gpdf/evince also suffer from it (bugs filed).
