jikes is orphaned, unmaintained, and buggy and therefore we are trying
to remove it from the archive. vnc-java currently
build-depends on jikes. Could you please try to build with one of the
other java compilers and remove the jikes build-depends?

Ola,
Hi. I have been using openjdk-6-jdk for most of these but there are a
few archs that it isn't available on. (hppa and hurd for example) but
I'm not sure how problematic that is. gcj might also be an option. I
can tell you that the tightvnc-java version currently in the archive
doesn't build with openjdk-6-jdk. I haven't tried the newer upstream
version nor have I tried vnc-java yet.
