I mean: my gpm is configured to use userspace on AC and powersave on battery (i can't see the UI ... but there definitely are gconf keys). When on AC, gpm doesn't scale my CPU, so it runs at full speed all the time. When i unplugg, CPU governor doesn't change to powersave, so CPU stays at full speed. OK, mjg59 says that i may not want to use powersave. On my laptop, using actually means: - long battery - less heat - much less fan noise - make sure CPU is stuck at low speed. > If you really want to set it, you can do it with the CPU frequency > applet in gnome-applets. Which works totally fine ... but that's no autoscaling and it doesn't switch automatically to powersave. -- Benoît Dejean GNOME http://www.gnomefr.org/ LibGTop http://directory.fsf.org/libgtop.html
