I started pidgin without automatic connection, then I disabled all accounts, then I started re-adding and connecting all accounts one at a time. I found that I have one protocol that actually halt pidgin: XMPP. It is used by two accounts I have: google and jabber.
When I run pidgin in debug mode, and enable one of those account, I get these messages: (09:11:51) account: Connecting to account eppes...@jabber.linux.it/Gaim (09:11:51) connection: Connecting. gc = 0x8e122a8 (09:11:51) dnssrv: querying SRV record for _xmpp-client._tcp.jabber.linux.it (09:11:51) dnssrv: found 1 SRV entries (09:11:51) dns: DNS query for '192.168.1.53' queued (09:11:51) dns: Wait for DNS child 22474 failed: No child processes (09:11:51) dns: Wait for DNS child 22475 failed: No child processes (09:11:51) dns: Wait for DNS child 22476 failed: No child processes (09:11:51) dns: Wait for DNS child 22473 failed: No child processes (09:11:51) dns: Created new DNS child 22579, there are now 1 children.
