Hello,

Thank you for the libamr libraries you provide. As you already know, there's an
AMR implementation from PacketVideo that is part of the Android project (i.e.
OpenCORE).

Martin Storsjö developed a wrapper around the AMR codecs from the OpenCORE
framework, and supplied patches to the FFmpeg project so they can be used as a
replacement for the libraries you developed. Those patches have been accepted
into the FFmpeg source. The announcement is at [1].

Currently, I'm working on the opencore-amr library. Martin is not particularly
interested in maintaining the opencore-amr library in the long run, so I've
picked up the source from Martin and placed them in the git repository for the
Debian multimedia team [2].

I would like this library to be a replacement for the current libamr libraries.
However, the opencore framework is missing an amr-wb encoder. With this in
mind,
perhaps the SONAME for the opencore-amr libraries can be bumped and the old
libamr-wb libraries can be broken up to have a libamrwb_encoder library. What
is
your opinion? Also, are you interesting in maintaining this library?
