Package: avahi-daemon Version: 0.6.23-3lenny1 Severity: important Hello Maintainer,
the avahi-daemon is required by some packages like "sun-java6-jre" which is the last crap and I have tried to deinstall the whole thing: michelle1:~# apt-get --purge remove avahi-daemon gsfonts-x11 libnss-mdns sun-jav a6-plugin libavahi-core5 libdaemon0 sun-java6-bin odbcinst1debian1 sun-java6-jre unixodbc java-common Reading package lists... Can't opendir(/proc/32292): No such file or directory at /usr/sbin/deluser line 304 and now it hangs forever and I can not kill this crap (^C does not work) It took 19 hours because "avahi-daemon" has unrequested accessed my 29 TByte Debian-Archive mirror, my ${HOME} Server with 2 TByte, my Multimedia Server 18 TByte and Devel File-Server with 16 TByte. It has blocked my whole Workstation and I was not able to stop it. Because I was not willing to HARD reset my system, to avoid an excessiv fsck run, it was running the whole day today. Please can you make a it more secure to prevent access to NFS shares?
