here is output from nm-tool:

$ nm-tool

NetworkManager Tool

State: disconnected

- Device: eth1 -----------------------------------------------------------------
  Type: Wired
  Driver: tg3
  State: unmanaged
  Default: no
  HW Address: 00:00:00:00:00:00

  Capabilities:
    Carrier Detect: yes
    Speed: 100 Mb/s

  Wired Properties
    Carrier: on

- Device: wlan0 ----------------------------------------------------------------
  Type: 802.11 WiFi
  Driver: iwl3945
  State: unavailable
  Default: no
  HW Address: 00:00:00:00:00:00

  Capabilities:

  Wireless Properties
    WEP Encryption: yes
    WPA Encryption: yes
    WPA2 Encryption: yes

  Wireless Access Points

Note that wlan0 is disabled by "kill switch" so it seems correct
(although HW address would be nice to see anyways), but eth1 is
configured by dhclient3 and working normally, so NetworkManager seems
having a vacation here.
