Sadly we cannot know precisely the reason of the failure: too much things can go wrong, and it's not the task of reportbug to go deeper at finding them. Here it clearly specify it's BTS (and we do connect with it via HTTP downloading HTML webpages), and I believed the bug report was about MTA connection failure.
