Hi Eric, I also experience firefox dying silently several times a month for quite some time. In my case, I never have more than 6-12 tabs open concurrently, usually only 3 or 4. No extensions are installed. Sometimes ff dies silently in the background while I'm away or using another application, sometimes it dies when clicking "Save link as...," sometimes it dies when clicking a link. I can not reproduce this. However, ff is more likely to crash after using a plugin in the same session; mplayer, xpdf or flash. I usually disable flashplayer by moving its files; turning it on only when needed to view a particular website. Deleting XUL.mfasl after a crash seems to restabilize ff quickly. This bug is probably another example of Bugzilla 234598 Firefox crashes randomly.
