Package: consolekit Version: 0.3.0-2 Severity: normal Hi!
Debian Policy 9.3.2 [1] states that | Packages that include daemons for system services should place | scripts in /etc/init.d to start or stop services at boot time or | during a change of runlevel. [1] http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-opersys.html#s9.3.2 I cannot find any init.d script for /usr/sbin/console-kit-daemon, which is apparently a daemon which is normally run as root. As a consequence, I cannot understand what's the correct strategy to restart the daemon, when I need to (e.g.: because checkrestart suggests to do so, after a package upgrade). Please provide an init.d script, if appropriate, or otherwise document the recommended way to restart the daemon. Thanks in advance. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (800, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-2-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages consolekit depends on: ii dbus 1.2.12-1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libc6 2.9-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libck-connector0 0.3.0-2 ConsoleKit libraries ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.12-1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.80-4 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libglib2.0-0 2.20.0-2 The GLib library of C routines ii libx11-6 2:1.2.1-1 X11 client-side library ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-13 compression library - runtime Versions of packages consolekit recommends: ii libpam-ck-connector 0.3.0-2 ConsoleKit PAM module consolekit suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
