It would be better instead of putting up big warning signs about the quirky
and unnecessary part of the API to just downplay it and focus on the proper
way using a filehandle... oh, except its not really a filehandle. That's just
bizarre. Uggh.
Maybe it needs to be reworked to return a subclassed FileHandle object.
