I am updating autotools-dev to strongly deprecate anything but the "remove everything auto-generated, and re-autotoolize everything on build time".
One question: is *removing* the files on clean (and adding them back on depencencies of the build target) also a problem for format 3.0? I am sure some DDs will not want to autotoolize and will try to get away with just updating config.sub and config.guess, so I better provide good instructions for that case. -- "One disk to rule them all, One disk to find them.
