I think we should skip all the information gathering part and just open the $EDITOR with the subject already set. the recipient are "Message will be sent to checkgm...@packages.debian.org" so no maint direct address is used. Moreover, --debug doesn't work with --kudos (the maint is sent to $...@p.d.o instead of the myself only [you might want to fix this too :) ].
