Package: libwxgtk2.8-0

I searched a little more. The root cause of this problem is the inclusion of the gstreamer library, which in turn is used for some wx media controls. I was not able to find any bug report requesting this, any software using this, there is no mention of it in the Debian release notes. Indeed it seems to be a change in the default compilation options of the wx package.

The inclusion is triggered by the package option enable-mediactrl, which now belongs to the standard options. It was not enabled in the
Debian wx 2.6 versions, as [1] complained then about missing
header files. The gconf problem is known since at least Dec. 2006 [2], when upstream decided to do nothing about the wx-introduced gconf-dependency.

Please consider removing all gstreamer dependencies or creating a wxmedia package that solely contains the dependencies on gstreamer and gconf2.

Regards, Lutz Lehmann
