This appears to be related to bug #520369 reported by
Bastian Kleineidam on 3/19/2009.
I'm receiving a similar dbus error launching gpodder under
Kubuntu (Hardy).
All dependencies were satisfied per the readme file upon
installation as well as reported satisfied by the Deb
package installer.
I did have initial trouble installing the gpodder package
via the Deb installer. I stripped all related dependencies
and reinstalled them via KDE's Adept Manager. I then
reinstalled the gpodder package and receive the same error
when attempting to launch the application. Note: gpodder
(version 0.10.4-1) from the Ubuntu repositories runs fine.
Also prior to a forced OS reinstall stemming from a cups
printing error I made worse attempting fix I was
successfully running gpodder (ver 0.15.*) installed from a
Deb package installation routine.
